Hull Crew 1999

Goals of the '99-'00 Year
"The construction crew team will be primarily concerned with the design and manufacture of all structural components of the submarine. The installation of all systems in the strongest and most efficient way will be stressed. As well as the constuction of the submarine, research into flow analysis will be performed. This will help determine the best possible selection of control surface size and location. Flow analysis will also show how to best construct the external features while minimizing drag. The goal for the school year is to have the submarine ready to race by spring break" -- Mark Roman, Hull Crew Chief '99-'00
Phantom III pictures are now available, both of plug and hull construction. Hull construction took place during the summer, when Owens Corning generously donated some expertise in the form of Mr. Tim MacNeil. Tim flew up from Florida the weekend of July 16, and coached the Team on the necessity of a fare mold, on each stage of fiberglassing, and on success in life in general. We greatly appreciate his time and assistance.
